Job Description

As a Lecturer in Education & Early Years at Starrycare, you will deliver high-quality teaching, assessment, and student support within childcare programs. You’ll play an active role in course planning, student engagement, and collaborating with team members to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Programme Tutor, supporting student progress through targeted goal-setting and monitoring.
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and tutorials across Education & Early Years courses, utilizing innovative methods and emerging technologies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress, assessments, attendance, and related data.
  • Collaborate closely with college managers and team members to foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Contribute to student discipline and morale, and address behavioral or attendance issues as needed.
  • Participate in college events such as open days and parents’ evenings, with occasional evening flexibility.
  • Support and adhere to Starrycare’s policies on equality, diversity, health and safety, safeguarding, and other relevant standards.

Education & Qualifications:

  1. Relevant qualification in Education & Childcare.
  2. Minimum GCSE grade C/4 in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  3. Assessor/IQA qualification (or willingness to obtain).

Work Experience:

  1. Experience working with children and young people in early years or education settings.
  2. Experience delivering NCFE/CACHE Childcare & Education qualifications.
  3. Experience with exam-based qualifications.
  4. Proficiency in using Microsoft Teams and ProSolution/ProMonitor.

Skills & Knowledge:

  1. Ability to create a stimulating learning environment using available resources.
  2. Effective in managing student behavior and fostering a positive learning environment.
  3. Proficient with IT, administrative tasks, and record-keeping.

Personal Qualities:

  1. Strong teamwork skills with a track record of collaborative success.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Highly organized, with strong administrative and IT skills.
