Job Description

We are looking to employ a positive, passionate and motivated Mathematics teacher. The successful candidate will be able to inspire and motivate students, and to deliver high quality teaching for their students in Mathematics IB MYP.
● Teach students the IB MYP mathematics curriculum, leading to the MHP e-Assessment in MYP Year 5 (S5/Y11)
● Inspire and motivate learners
● Plan, develop and implement high quality lessons within the broad, balanced and differentiated Mathematics curriculum using a variety of approaches
● Identify and adopt the most effective active, creative teaching approaches for all students in line with current best practice and the ethos of our school
● Collaborate with colleagues, planning and engaging in interdisciplinary learning opportunities
● Model and promote the IB learner profile
● Help the Principal to establish a positive identity and inclusive ethos for the school
● Implement policies and procedures to ensure good practice
● Maintain discipline within the school
● Involve parents and carers in the life of the school
● Promote the school’s specialisms in sciences and languages
● Support and participate in a broad and balanced IB curriculum

Key responsibilities:
● Work with the Deputy Heads of Secondary to ensure that every member of staff has the very highest expectations of all pupils, no matter what their background
● Work with the Head of Secondary to ensure compliance with good practice and all legal requirements, particularly child protection, in all aspects of the employment of staff
● Provide regular feedback to the Head of Secondary about the progress of secondary pupils and whole-school issues and achievements
● Support the Head of Secondary to liaise effectively with the wider community.

Learning and teaching:
● Help to inspire children to achieve their very best.
● Help develop the IB MYP Mathematics curriculum within the school.
● Ensure all students are able to succeed by using a differentiated approach and providing and facilitating suitable support.
● Assess and track each student’s progress, in order to give feedback to management, colleagues, parents and pupils so that future learning can be planned carefully.

Qualification and training:
● Teaching qualification.
● A University degree in, or closely related to, the subject specialism is required.
