Job Description
The Primary Physical Education (PE) Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive physical education program for students in primary grades. This role focuses on promoting physical fitness, motor skills development, and a positive attitude toward physical activity among students. The Primary PE Specialist will create engaging lesson plans, lead physical education classes, and foster an inclusive and safe learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
Develop a progressive and age-appropriate physical education curriculum for primary students.
Align curriculum with relevant educational standards and learning objectives.
Incorporate a variety of physical activities, sports, and games to promote overall physical development.
Instruction:
Plan and deliver engaging and effective physical education lessons.
Teach students fundamental motor skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Adapt instruction to accommodate varying skill levels and individual needs.
Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Assess student progress and skill development through regular evaluation.
Maintain records of student performance and attendance.
Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding progress.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Previous experience in teaching physical education to primary students.
Strong knowledge of child development and age-appropriate physical activities.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Organizational and time management skills.
